Since the Dolphin opened its doors in 1977, the enchanting Hanalei Heritage River meandered slowly past it, taro fields grew across the road, and the entire dining room opened up to a romantic tropical setting, and today not a bit of this charming environment has changed!

What has changed at the longest continually operated restaurant on the North Shore is that the Hanalei Dolphin now serves lunch, cocktails and lazy afternoon appetizers under colorful umbrellas on the river's edge. We also opened the Hanalei Dolphin Fish market where locals and visitors purchase the freshest fish on the island and Dolphin specialties such as Ahi and Soft Shell Crab Rolls, ready-to-cook Teriyaki Shrimp, and Beef Stix, New York or Filet Mignon, cut to order, salad mixes, homemade dressings and Dolphin Squaw bread.

The Dolphin is the only restaurant located on the Hanalei Heritage River and is a North Shore institution. Charbroiled Fresh Catch of the Day right out of Kauai's waters and sautéed Calamari, Scallops, Broiled Shrimp, Crab Legs and Lobster will satisfy all seafood lovers.

Two sizes of Filet Mignon and New York, seafood combos, and chicken dishes, make the Dolphin an excellent choice. Dinner entrees are served with a Family Style Salad, Our Own Dressings, Hot Homemade Bread, and choice of Marinated Vegetable Kabob, Pasta, Steak Fries, Rice or...Baked Potato Ala Carte.

We do not take reservations. We operate on a first come, first served basis.

We accept Visa, MasterCard, Traveler's Checks and CASH. No separate checks, please.
